I'm Simeon Eberz

This past summer, I acted as project lead for a software development team made up of 7 interns. We developed an open-source program to assist with the Rapid Word Collection process, a system for quickly producing dictionaries for languages that are not well documented. The tool helps with both data collection and cleanup, and is built with ASP.NET Core, React, Redux, and Material-UI. You can check it out on github! https://github.com/sillsdev/TheCombine

I am conducting research for Dr. Ephraim Zegeye, Mechanical Engineering Professor. Currently, I am developing Arduino and MATLAB code to produce graphs for an experimental sensor.

I am part of my department's Freshman Mentoring Program. I mentor about ten freshmen engineering students, and help them transition to college and get on track for studying engineering. I meet with the group a few times over the semester to hear how they're doing and offer advice, and send out emails of encouragement.
